As the search for a suspect considered armed and dangerous continues, additional robbery charges are piling up against the 38-year-old Tyler man who has made statements that he will not go back to prison.
Aaron Lamon Muse is the subject of multiple robbery investigations spanning from Wood County to Henderson County after officers in Henderson County read a Tyler Paper article that led them to believe the man could be the suspect in several robberies in their county.
Athens Police Chief Buddy Hill said a warrant for aggravated robbery has been issued for Muse for the Dec. 28 robbery of the Brookshire's gas kiosk.
"The suspect robbed, demanded the money from the kiosk and then also took the wallet of one of the robbery victims," he said.
Hill said a credit card stolen during the robbery was used in Tyler at two different locations -- one location that had surveillance cameras that caught a pickup on tape.
Hill said Muse became the suspect in multiple Henderson County robberies after a Malakoff police officer saw a story about Muse being sought.
"When we looked at the robberies we noticed there were a lot of similarities," he said.
When Athens police detectives traveled to Mineola they were able to see photos of Muse's pickup confiscated in Mineola after a robbery in that city.
Hill said he knew that Malakoff police were looking at Muse for two robberies in that city and he may also be a suspect in another Athens' robbery and a robbery in Murchison.
Last week SWAT, U.S. Marshals and Lindale officers surrounded a residence in the 2400 block of North Englewood that Muse listed as his residence for his parole officer.
"I have heard that he is telling people he will not go back to prison and that he won't be taken alive," Hill said.
He added he hoped Muse could be captured before anyone, including the suspect, was hurt.
Anyone with information about Muse's whereabouts is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at (903) 531-1000, the Tyler/Smith County Crime Stoppers at (903) 597-2833 or any local law enforcement agency. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
