A 43-year-old Brownsboro man pleaded guilty in Tyler federal court Friday to possessing child pornography.

Doyle Randall Paroline pleaded guilty to possessing material involving the exploitation of minors and faces up to 10 years in prison. Paroline waived his right to a grand jury indictment in U.S. Magistrate Judge John Love’s court and pleaded guilty to an information, which is a formal charging document.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Coan said Paroline possessed at least 150 images but fewer than 300 and he agreed to forfeit two computers to the government.

On July 11, the defendant consented to a search of his computers by law enforcement and admitted to using his computer to view child pornography, according to court documents.

Friday’s hearing was the defendant’s first appearance in court on the charges and he was ordered jailed after his guilty plea. Paroline is represented by defense attorney F.R. “Buck” Files Jr. His sentencing date has not been set.
