Nominees Being Taken For Mr., Mrs. YesterYear
By KELLY GOOCH
Staff Writer

WHITEHOUSE -- Whitehouse YesterYear is taking applications for Mr. and Mrs. YesterYear.

Juanita Hagan, a YesterYear organization director, said there is no age limit for Mr. and Mrs. YesterYear and an individual or a couple can be nominated.

"It's someone who has been active in the (Whitehouse) community," she said.

Hagan said Mr. and Mrs. YesterYear are usually active in the community.

Randall Robinson, a Whitehouse school board member and Susan Robinson were Mr. and Mrs. YesterYear in 2008.

Whoever is selected for 2009 will be honored at a tea, Hagan said, and will be part of various YesterYear festival events.

"It's the organization's way of honoring them," she said.

Hagan said no date has been set for the YesterYear festival or the tea.

To nominate an individual or couple, write a letter including their qualifications and reasons they should be honored.

The letter should include the nominee's address and phone number.

Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 30 and can be sent to Whitehouse YesterYear, P.O. Box 1574, Whitehouse, Texas, 75791.

Nancy Coats, a director of the organization, said YesterYear directors will select the winners in February.
