The search for a parolee, who allegedly robbed two area businesses at gunpoint, continues as law enforcement gathers more evidence against the man said to be armed and dangerous.

Police say Aaron Lamon Muse, 38, is wanted on two counts of aggravated robbery, one count of aggravated assault, evading detention and a parole violation.

Muse is alleged to have robbed the Family Dollar on U.S. 69 in Lindale and the Super Food Mart at 680 W. Broad St. in Mineola Friday night.

Mineola Police Capt. Joyce Box told the Tyler Paper this morning that a search was conducted on a 1992 GMC 1500 pickup that was found close to the robbery in her city.

“We found the money, the weapon, a ski mask and other evidence. It is not very often that we recover the money from a robbery like this,” she said.

Box said during the robbery the suspect walked to the door and told an approaching customer to leave.

The same man who Muse pointed the gun at and told to leave the store was shot at as he attempted to find help for the female clerk.

“The victim left as he was instructed, but he circled back around the parking lot in his vehicle looking for some way to get the woman inside some help. Muse then ran to the back of the store and fired a shot at the victim in his car,” she said.

Box said no one was injured, but authorities want Muse, who is on parole for a 1988 armed robbery, in custody before anyone is hurt.

Box praised the officer who moments prior to the robbery noticed a car that was sitting abandoned a short distance from the store so he ran the license plate as part of normal procedure.

After the robbery the officer remembered the vehicle and went back to the location. The pickup was found to belong to Muse.

“If he hadn’t done this routine thing then we might still be trying to learn who our suspect was,” she said.

Monday Tyler SWAT, U.S. Marshals and Lindale officers surrounded a residence in the 2400 block of North Englewood that Muse lists as his residence.

Anyone with information about Muse’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000, the Tyler/Smith County Crimestoppers at 903-597-2833 or any local law enforcement agency. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
