Crime Watch: Honking Horn Leads To Firearm Threat
Smith County Sheriff's deputies were called to a location on Hillside Drive to settle a dispute where a honking horn lead to an alleged threat with a firearm.

According to a report the deputies settled the dispute for the time being after one subject told the other party if anyone reported him for blowing his horn he would shoot them. No charges were filed.


AUTO BURGLARY
  • Woman reported she had her purse stolen out of her vehicle at a firework stand on U.S. Highway 69 north.

  • Purse stolen from vehicle on U.S. Highway 69 north.

  • Several items reported stolen from vehicle on Tracy Lane.


  • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
  • Mailbox blown up with fireworks at a home on County Road 2301.

  • Smith County man reported all of his vehicle windows except the windshield had been busted out at his home on Phoenix Drive.


  • RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
    Several items were reported missing when resident arrived home on Cass Circle.

    Man reported someone took an air compressor from his front porch on Thompson Lane.


    THEFT
    Tractor reported stolen from home on County Road 334.

    UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

    A 2001 black Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was reported stolen from a location on County Road 46.
