Wood County Death Being Investigated as Homicide
The Wood County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a 53-year-old woman as a homicide and is awaiting the preliminary results from an autopsy, officials said.
Joy Elizabeth Glasgow was found early Monday morning inside her home, dead from an apparent gunshot wound. The body was sent to Southwestern Institute for Forensic Sciences in Dallas.
Deputies from the Wood County Sheriff's Department responded at 7:49 a.m. Monday to a phone call from Franklin County Sheriff's Department requesting a welfare check at 3945 County Road 4660.
Sheriff Dwaine Daugherty said more information may be available upon the release of preliminary results from the autopsy ordered Monday, which are expected within a few days, he said.
