November 16: What Is Due
RANT: AIG received a massive bailout from the taxpayers, and we have read about their expensive post-bailout party.
Well, amidst all this, back in July 2008, there was a contractor working in Iraq who was injured. It became a federal workers compensation case. The case was fought by the employer, and I, as the treating doctor for the injured worker, had to do a telephonic deposition.
To make a long story short, the patient won, ordered compensation around July 2008.
His bill for our care is under $2,000. He has been paid, we have not.
We have contacted the attorney for the other side and have not been paid.
This weekend, I sent letters to Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer, as well as others who are supposed to have bailout oversight.
We are just trying to get paid what we are due, since for us, every dollar is precious in regards trying to stay in business.
