Texas Spine and Joint Hospital Ranked Number 1
The Texas Spine and Joint Hospital has been ranked first in Texas for spine surgery, according to the 11th Annual HealthGrades Hospitals in America Study. Medical officials and local dignitaries, including U.S. Louie Gohmert and Tyler Mayor Barbara Bass, recognized the hospital's accomplishment during a reception Thursday.
Released in October, the study showed that the outcomes for spine surgery at TSJH for 2005-07 not only exceeded quality expectations, giving TSJH a five-star rating, but were the highest in the state.
This is the fourth consecutive year the hospital has been ranked in the top 5 percent in the nation for spine surgery. The 20-bed hospital opened in 2003 by a group of physicians with a focus on diseases and injuries of the spine and joints.
