Moore Cheerleading Squad Earns Honor At Competition
The Moore Middle School Competition team won the highest possible honor at the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader contest Sunday, Oct. 12 at Texas Stadium.
The cheerleaders earned the high point award for the grand championship, beating out 22 other teams which included high school squads as well as all star teams. The cheerleaders also placed first in the middle school division, as well as the high point award above all school teams.
Alexis Crowder, co-captain for the team, won first place in the individual best jumps category out of hundreds of competitors. This is the second time Miss Crowder won a jump queen title this year.
The cheerleaders will be competing for their third state cheerleading title on Nov. 9 at Southern Methodist University and their second state dance title in February. They will compete at cheerleading nationals in February as well.
Members of the competition team are: Brittney Jones -- captain, Alexis Crowder -- co-captain, Reagan Freeman -- co-captain, Morgan Hadsall -- lieutenant, Lizeth Espinoza -- lieutenant, Alyssa Anderson, Laura Brown, Briana Callier, Caitlin Denman, Emily Hawk, Erin Hicks, Madi Johnson, Jillian Kegler, Monica Martin, Mary Kate Murphy, Krista Painter, Madison Powell, Olivia Price, Lindsey Sarver, Kaleigh Smith, Kelsey Stewart, DaJah Thompson, Victoria Vorsas, and Paige White. The team is coached by Lana Cain.
