All Saints Trojans Shut Down By Lutheran

Quarterback Ben Hartley threw three touchdown passes and returned a kickoff 93 yards for a score as Dallas Lutheran won its first game of the season, 62-0, over All Saints at Mewbourne Field on Friday.

Dallas Lutheran (1-5, 1-0 TAPPS Div III-District 2) shut down Trojan running back Jontrell Boone, who came into the game averaging 167.5 yards a game. Boone finished with 78 yards on 13 carries.

All Saints (3-2, 0-1) struggled offensively with fourth-string quarterback Travis Gerard forced into duty. He went 4-for-17 for 30 yards with one interception and two laterals that went for fumbles.

Nate Rankin caught two of Ben Hartley's strikes for 55 and 59 yards, and David Hartley caught another for 53 yards.

Dallas Lutheran ran 14 times in the first half, producing 125 yards and four touchdowns before calling off the dogs early in the third quarter.

Grant Klembara rushed for 81 yards on 10 carries and scored three touchdowns for the Lions.

Dallas Lutheran blocked three punts in the first half.
