Quick Slant: A matchup of the second-best passing offense in District 11-5A against the top-ranked passing defense. Despite attempting 196 passes, Halpin has completed almost 70 percent with 1,208 yards and nine touchdowns. Smith and his fellow defensive backs will be under siege this game with Mesquite's short passing attack. Monigold, who led REL with 20 tackles in its win over Flower Mound Marcus, could make a big impact if he and the rest of his mates can pressure Halpin and take him out of his comfort zone. Offensively, REL will be looking at Brown and Wiley to move the chains and run the clock, keeping Halpin and Co. on the sideline.
