Republican Rally Set Sunday at Bergfeld
A rally in support of presidential candidate Sen. John McCain and his running mate Gov. Sarah Palin will be held in Bergfeld Park Amphitheater at 2 p.m. Sunday and features area Republican representatives.
Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Tyler, and state Rep. Leo Berman, R-Tyler, will speak as GOP groups, including the Tyler Young Republicans, Smith County Republicans and Smith County Republican Women, hope to rally the public to support their candidates.
Other speakers include Precinct 1 County Commissioner and Smith County Republican Women member JoAnn Fleming, the Rev. Lou Gary Thomas, Lanes Chapel United Methodist Church, Prudential Financial representative Annetta Carter and Smith County Republican Party Chairman Ashton Oravetz.
"Everyone is welcome to come support your Republican Party in our nation's time of need," GOP volunteer Karen Bridges said.
Campaign items and refreshments will be available.
