Rose Festival Duchesses

MISS SARAH AMANDA BRAY, daughter of Ms. Mary Bray of The Woodlands and Mr. David Bray of Houston, is a sophomore at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She is majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Cinema Television and is a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and Student Foundation. Ms. Bray is the Fashion Editor for the SMU student newspaper, The Daily Campus. She was also a representative on the Hall Council her freshman year. Miss Bray is a graduate of All Saints Episcopal School of Tyler, where she was the Co-Editor in Chief and Fashion Editor for the student newspaper. She was a member of the Homecoming Court and a nominee for Homecoming Queen. She participated in volleyball and drill team and was a member of the Young Republicans Club, Spanish Club and Spirit Club.

Miss Bray was the recipient of the Junior League of Tyler Young Woman Leadership Scholarship, for her community service. She has volunteered in many organizations, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Trinity Mother Frances Reach Out and Read Program, Tyler Public Library I Love to Read Week, Princess for a Day, PATH Christmas in the Neighborhood, Andrews Center, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and American Red Cross. Miss Bray was Miss Tyler Teen USA 2006 and represented Tyler at Miss Texas Teen USA.

Miss Bray was a camper at Camp Olympia for nine years and participated in the Camp Olympia Leadership Program. This summer she is working as a camp counselor at Camp Olympia and an editorial intern for ENVY Magazine. Miss Bray is sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Michael Carl Young of Tyler.
