October 5: Don’t Blame GOP
RANT: America was established in 1776 as a free-market state, but Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid are the hypocrites raging against the GOP and the free-market philosophy, blaming them for the financial debacle.
I guess they didn’t know that Fannie Mae was in good shape before the 2006 Democratic Congress began mismanaging it with unregulated lending. Democratic Sens. Chris Dodd and Barack Obama received healthy kickbacks. Senator John McCain warned Congress to set some limits for accountability, but no. And now ... what a nightmare.
If our government leaders had the moral character of our 18th century leaders, we wouldn’t need more laws, more politicians, and more departments, etc. The American government in 1776 was a skeleton and the leaders were trustworthy. Many of our current leaders want power and money, so we have more of them than we need — and more chaos.
