Rep. Tommy Merritt Announces Launch Of Aerospace Scholars
State Rep. Tommy Merritt, R-Longview, announced the launch of this year's High School Aerospace Scholars.

"I encourage all high school students who are interested in math, science or engineering careers in my district to apply for a chance at this valuable experience," he said.

Interested high school juniors should apply online at aerospacescholars.jsc.nasa.gov. Students selected to participate will use math and science skills to complete Web-based assignments during the school year.

They will also travel to the Johnson Space Center in Houston during the summer to work with NASA engineers and scientists investigating options for sending humans to Mars.
