Dallas Lincoln Forfeits First Four Football Games
DALLAS (AP) -- Dallas Lincoln is forfeiting its first four football games after finding out it used a player whose University Interscholastic League eligibility ended last season.
The Dallas Independent School District said Thursday that coaches at the school did not know the player's eligibility had ended.
The Tigers will now have an 0-4 record.
"This is an unfortunate situation for the Lincoln Tiger football team but they have every opportunity to bounce back," DISD Athletic Director Jeff Johnson said. "Administrators at Lincoln properly notified this office as soon as they learned of this situation so that UIL could be notified."
