The East Texas Chapter of Links Inc. will host a Jazz Luncheon at 11 a.m. Saturday at Willow Brook Country Club, 3205 W. Erwin St., Tyler.

Joyce Armstrong-Scurry is the chairperson for this event. Tickets are $35 and may be purchased from any Links member. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the East Texas Links Scholarship Fund, organizers said.

The Links service projects are cultural and educational programs for youth, health and wellness of families, such as health fairs in Longview, Marshall and Tyler, including cancer screenings; the empowerment of young African American men through a program called Links Involving Fantastic Teens (LIFT), Teen Summit, youth speaking out against negative hip-hop music; and awarding scholarships to high school graduates in Smith, Gregg and Harrison counties.

Gwendolyn Huntington is president of the East Texas chapter, which has members in Tyler, Longview and Marshall.
