Area Football Facilities Receive Facelift
With the high school football season well underway, schools across Smith County are breaking in new homes.

The stadiums for Chapel Hill, Whitehouse and Bullard have either received a facelift or relocated altogether. Chapel Hill and Whitehouse debuted upgraded stadiums last week, while Bullard will break ground on its new venue Friday night.

All three stadiums have followed the recent trend that is artificial surface, but each offers fans unique characteristics.

For example, Whitehouse joined a short list of school districts that have a video scoreboard. Wildcat Stadium also has additional seating (7,000 capacity) and a renovated press box, which was expanded to two levels.

At Chapel Hill, the stadium has received new concession stands and boys and girls field houses.

Meanwhile, Bullard will begin the season Friday night in its new 5,500-capacity ballpark after receiving an opening-week bye.

The Panthers will play Palestine Westwood. There is a pre-game dedication ceremony scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Whitehouse (0-1) will play host to Sulphur Springs, while Chapel Hill (1-0) will travel to Kaufman.
