Grace Community Wins Consolation
Grace Community captured the consolation title of the Bronze Bracket in Saturday's Tyler Invitational Volleyball Tournament.
Lady Cougar setter Kayla Konon was named all-tournament.
After falling to Henderson (25-15, 25-16) in the first round, Grace rebounded to down Athens (25-18, 25-13) and Mabank (21-25, 25-20, 25-21).
Along with Konon, other standouts for Grace were Katie Gusa (12 kills, 10 blocks), Maggi Jones (8 kills, 6 blocks) and Lynsey Stackhouse (21 assists).
The Lady Cougars play host to Henderson on Tuesday. Freshmen begin play at 4:30 p.m.
