August 31: Silly Promises
RANT: I've got a suggestion for all Americans fed up with our government. Stop depending on the government to fix your problem. Stop waiting for that monthly check and take control of your life.
It is not the government's responsibility (Democratic or Republican) to pay rent, buy groceries, pay day care, pay for health insurance or wipe someone's nose.
If a person is physically able to work they should work with no excuses. This country has encouraged people to stay home and get that check each month instead of working.
After listening to the speeches at the Democratic National Convention it really hit me that they promise the delegates and the voters all of this wonderful stuff if they vote for Barack Obama. It is incredibly ignorant of voters to believe that any of this will happen, and it won't cost them a dime. If we keep taxing the rich they will leave this country and take their money with them. Then we are all in deep trouble. The wealthy in this country are not the enemy, folks. The people continue to take from this country without contributing are the real enemy.
Why should I be required to give up part of my paycheck because someone makes less? I work way too hard for my money to make the same as Jose, Charlie, or Muhammad down the road just "cause."
Unfortunately the people who really need to hear this message won't because the government won't pay for this newspaper to be delivered to their front door.
