Alto Yellowjackets: What to Expect
Head coach Keith Gardner said he hasn't sat around all summer thinking much about it, but the Alto Yellowjackets are vying for some cool history this fall. They are attempting to become the first back-to-back-to-back state 1A champions in Texas football history. The competition is stiffer than ever in the state's lowest 11-man classification. It will be an accomplishment just to advance out of Region III in either Division I or Division II.
However, the Yellowjackets are still picked to win their district and possibly get back to a state title game. They are ranked fourth in the state by Texas Football , and No. 1 by the Associated Press.
