This is in response to M.S.T. Namoodiri’s letter in the East Texas Mailbox on Saturday.

Mr. Namboodiri, I do not care if a person running for office is black, brown, green or purple. However, I do care whether the person is qualified to hold that office. Barack Obama may win the presidency, but it won’t be because he has any experience. It will be because people voted for him because he is an African-American, period.

As far as his upbringing, Proverbs 22:6 reads “Train up a child the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

So how was Barack Obama trained? From all I have read he was trained in a way that is not the way most of the citizens of this great country were trained.

I feel if any other candidate had this much in their background, he would not have gotten to the place where they would be the candidate.

If Colin Powell or Alan Keyes were running, I could understand voting for them. They are experienced. I am 72 years young and a Democrat. However, I cannot vote for either candidate in this election. This said, I think we are in for a rocky road if the Democratic candidate is elected.
Galatians 6:7 reads “Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

My prayer is that each person who has the power to vote in this election will seek the truth and vote accordingly.
