Tyler Junior College Apaches Kick Ranger
RANGER -- The No. 9 Tyler Junior College men's soccer team cruised by Ranger, 4-0, Tuesday in the season opener for both teams.
Robert E. Lee graduate Juan Robles played the entire match at goalkeeper for the Apaches, who allowed only two shots on goal.
Kareem Freitas opened the scoring six minutes into the match. Will Darier had the assist. Alex Rodriguez scored 10 minutes later as TJC led 2-0 at halftime.
Ranger allowed an own goal to make it 3-0, and Darier added the Apaches' final tally later in the second half.

"We're always pleased with a shutout," said TJC head coach Steve Clements. "The defense did a good job."
The Apaches travel to Atlanta, Ga., this weekend to face No. 2 Georgia Perimeter at 1 p.m. (CST) Saturday.
TJC has six sophomores on the roster, including five players off last year's team.
