TYLER -- Tyler Library Advisory Board, 4:30 p.m., Tyler Public Library Taylor Auditorium, 201 S. College Ave.

QUITMAN -- Wood County commissioners, 10 a.m., courthouse, public hearing for proposed tax rate.

QUITMAN -- Wood County commissioners, 11 a.m., courthouse, special session to conduct Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace interviews.


Thursday, Aug. 28
TYLER -- Smith County Council of Judges, noon, Smith County Courthouse, 7th District Courtroom, second floor. Discuss, consider and take action on report and information from Smith County judge and commissioners court on the jail plan to appear on the November ballot for voter approval.

CANTON -- Canton Independent School District special meeting, 7 p.m., 225 W. Elm St. Consider, discuss, take action on budget amendments.

TYLER -- Northeast Texas Public Health District, 5 p.m., 315 N. Broadway Ave. Receive update on healthy living initiative.


Friday, Aug. 29
GILMER -- Upshur County commissioners, regular meeting, 9 a.m., courthouse.

MINEOLA -- Mineola City Council, 5:30 p.m., Mineola Municipal Complex, 300 Greenville Highway, special meeting to accept resignation of Mayor N.R. "Pete" Smith and to appoint mayor and president pro tem.

ATHENS -- Henderson County commissioners, special meeting, 1:30 p.m., courthouse. Discuss budget.


Tuesday, Sept. 2
LINDALE -- Lindale City Council, meeting, 7 p.m., 712 Kinzie Community Center, 912 Mt. Sylvan Road.

WHITEHOUSE -- Whitehouse Parks & Recreation, meeting, city council, 311 E. Main St.

QUITMAN -- Wood County commissioners, 10 a.m., courthouse, public hearing for proposed tax rate.

Tyler City Council TV

Tyler City Council meetings air at 3 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday on local government access cable channel 3. Tyler Planning and Zoning Commission meetings air at 3 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday on the same channel.

TISD TV

Tyler ISD Board of Trustees meetings air at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month and are rebroadcast at 2 p.m. the following Saturday and 8 p.m. the following Sunday on TISD TV cable channel 19. Regular board meetings typically take place at the Jim Plyler Instructional Complex, 807 W. Glenwood Blvd.
