Aug. 25: A Sure Winner
I really love the first rule. “No homework grades can be given unless they raise a student’s average.” That’s a sure winner.
Let’s see. “Little Johnny (or Janey), as your teacher, I want you to know you can be sure to get smarter and smarter each time your homework is graded. How can I guarantee this? Because I am going to lie. Yes, that’s right. I will say you learned something when in fact, you didn’t learn a darn thing! How will this affect your future? That’s the best part! It won’t affect your future at all. I know you will be uneducated and unable to perform basic tasks called for in society.
“But wait! It won’t matter at all because if you vote for the right politicians, they will take money from those who did learn to perform basic tasks in society and give their money to you. Just like finding money in the road. Sweet, huh? So here’s my advice to you.
“Give up now. Just blame your future failures on others. You can’t blame me, that’s for sure. I ain’t about to fail you.”
As I write this I take note of ‘Today in History 19 August 1934’. In 1934, a plebiscite (yantakhib, Arabic ‘to vote’) in Germany approved the vesting of sole executive power in Adolf Hitler. Hmmm. President Obama and Democrat congress? Dang it, where’d I put that crystal ball?
