Fay Runs Course Out of East Texas
Spotty showers began developing over the area at mid-afternoon Monday as the region continued one more day under the influence of Tropical Depression Fay. Fay's remnant was centered east of Jackson, Miss., Monday afternoon. It was moving slowly northeastward, and should be out of range of East Texas weather Tuesday.

Monday's temperatures averaged a degree or so warmer than Sunday's, and were near normal. Temperatures should run a degree or so above normal for the remainder of the month.
Tyler's highest sustaining wind Monday was northeasterly at 15 mph with a peak gust of 17 mph, and an average velocity of 7.1 mph.
Monday's average relative humidity was 72 percent, with lowering values Tuesday through Thursday.
Tyler's high temperature of 89 came at 4:20 p.m., following the day's low of 73 at 6:00 a.m.
