Gas Prices Continue To Drop In Texas
Staff And Wire Reports

Gas prices in Texas continue to drop, the AAA said Friday.

The statewide average for regular unleaded is now $3.55, down 9 cents from one week ago. In Tyler, it is selling for about $3.47 at many stations.

Nationally, the average price is $3.70 a gallon.

It's the 35th straight day gasoline prices have fallen.

"While crude oil prices Thursday have been trading upward on world markets, the price is still substantially below the all-time high of $147 a barrel reached on July 17 and at the gasoline pump. That means consumers have seen prices drop by more than 10 percent in Texas and nationally as well," said AAA Texas Corporate Communications Manager Dan Ronan.
