August 22: Abortion Differences
The forum Aug. 16 at Saddleback Church in California provided voters the opportunity to see stark differences between the two major presidential candidates in several areas, especially the issue of abortion.
John McCain, without equivocation, said life begins at conception, whereas Barack Obama responded as a politician who wants to have it both ways when he said he was pro-choice, but not because he was pro-abortion. Well, duh, as the typical politician he didn't answer the question! He, the one who claims to be different from all the other politicians in D.C., responded as most in Congress would have.
In fact, Obama, while in the Illinois state legislature in 2001, voted against protecting a child who is expelled from the womb during a botched abortion. His question then was, "Can this child be declared a person as a 9-month-old child?" If so, it might threaten the abortion industry, according to him; and, since he would not want to offend his supporters in the National Abortion Rights Action League, and others in the abortion industry who see no problem killing babies in the womb, he says it is "above his pay grade" to decide when life begins! What a copout. Doesn't he realize the president is at the top of the pay grade?
He has also opposed a ban on "partial birth abortions," a procedure the late Democratic senator from New York, Patrick Moynihan, said was "As close to infanticide as anything he could imagine." Obama has also said he will, to the best of his ability, expand the abortion industry by supporting legislation and appointing judges who must pass the litmus test of unequivocally supporting "abortion rights."
There are many other reasons this man, Obama, is not ready to be president, but this alone should convince you not to support him in the upcoming race.
