Announcements For Youngsters
Boys & Girls Clubs
Boys & Girls Clubs of East Texas (BGCET) announced it is recruiting additional organizations, congregations, businesses and individuals to provide a free activity for youth during the 2008 Day for Kids event which will be held Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bergfeld Park. Organizations, businesses and churches are invited to have a booth at this event that will provide a family fun activity for those in attendance.
Activity space will be available at no charge. The activities can include face painting, arts & crafts activities, bean bag tosses, puppet shows, clowns, etc. Also needed are items to fill goody bags to be distributed to the first 3,000 children who attend.
To apply for a booth, or for more information, contact Melissa Bristol, Director of Community Relations, at 903-593-9211. The Day for Kids pledge is to spend meaningful time together, to talk, to listen, to learn and to play, to share a moment, create a memory and make a kid's day.
Amazing Games At Broadway Square
The Simon Kidgits Club Amazing Games will begin at 10 a.m. and run through noon Saturday at Broadway Square Mall in Tyler.
From jump-roping and hula hoop contests to bounce houses and obstacle courses, kids can join in the excitement. Kidgits Amazing Games is one of several interactive educational events held throughout the year for members of the Simon Kidgits Club, a fun and informative program that focuses on health, wellness, education, safety and entertainment for area children.
Discovery Science Place will be at Broadway Square to celebrate the day of family fun. Every child who participates in the Kidgits Amazing Games will receive a jump rope, sports wristband, medal and achievement award.
Parents can register their child to become a Simon Kidgits Club member at www.simon.com/kidgits. With the $5 annual fee, kids will receive a free T-shirt, membership card, and access to all of the Kidgits Club special events throughout the year.
