Quitman's Gorman Second At Junior Golf Tournament
PLANO -- Quitman's Jake Gorman finished second in his division at the Colonial Bank Bruce Lietzke Junior Golf Classic Wednesday at Gleneagles Country Club.
Gorman had a 54-hole total of 224 (80-74-70) to place one stroke behind Branson Davis of McKinney (77-77-69) in the Boys 14 & under division.
The tournament is a stop on the Texas Legends Junior Tour.
Texarkana's Cole Kennedy placed third with a 228 (76-81-71), while Nacogdoches' Colin Frizzell was fifth at 240 (84-81-75).
In the Boys 15-18 Division, Zachary Collins of Fort Worth captured a four-stroke victory. He had a score of 223 (76-76-71). Preston Standley of Plano was runner-up at 227 (75-79-73).
Stuart Smallwood of Paris was 14th at 235 (78-72-85).
Alexandriana Park of Southlake won the Girls 15-18 Division with a 241 (82-78-81), four strokes in front of Samantha Massei of Allen (84-86-75 -- 245).
Canton's Jordan Bozeman placed fifth with a 259 (85-87-87).
Sydney Williams of Melissa won the Girls 14 & under division with a 255 (82-86-87).
The golfers played the Kings Course.
