Aug. 19: Money for Mom
ROSES: Send bouquets of roses to an anonymous donor. I am a sailor’s mom. My youngest son David recently enlisted in the Navy and shipped out last week for boot camp in Illinois. This is his first major trip away from home, and I suspect it’s harder on me than on him.
I checked my mail on Friday, and discovered an envelope, simply made out to “A Sailor’s Mom,” tucked in with my mail. This person took the time to find my address, and hand-delivered this note. Inside this envelope was a little note, and a considerable amount of money to help out with the expense of going to his graduation in Illinois.
Being a single mom, this was truly a blessing. I just wanted to thank the person who was responsible for making my whole year with the generous donation for my son, and me.
It is people like them who make this world a better place to live. Thank you again and may God bless you!
