Tyler Junior College Plans Workshop for Displaced Workers
Tyler Junior College will host a special Returning Adult Workshop for former employees of Goodyear, National Diversified Sales (NDS) and Astro Air on Aug. 28.
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon in Apache Rooms 3 and 4 of the Rogers Student Center, at the corner of Baxter Avenue and Lake Street on the TJC campus.
The free workshop -- designed for individuals with a high school diploma or GED -- will provide information about promising career fields, financial aid sources, academic support services and admissions and testing requirements, according to information from TJC.
Speakers will include representatives from the offices of admissions, testing, financial aid, support services and distance learning, as well as the counselors from each TJC academic school: Allied Health & Nursing, Applied Studies, Continuing Studies and University Studies.
Workshop space is limited, so reservations are recommended. To register for the workshop, call the TJC Support Services office at 903-510-2395, or e-mail Dr. Vickie Geisel at vgei@tjc.edu.
