Two to Three Inches of Rain Expected Through Wednesday
A couple of bands of light showers crossed the region on Monday ahead of what is forecast to be heavy rainfall from early Tuesday into Wednesday. Rain fell in Tyler around 6 a.m., with the city receiving 0.03 inch and the airport 0.05 inch. Another band of light showers crossed the northern counties at early afternoon.
An area of general showers and a few thunderstorms was moving northeastward, and should affect the area overnight. Light rain began falling in Tyler just before 5 p.m., with the city receiving an additional 0.11 inch, and Pounds Field 0.14 inch.
Rainfall through Wednesday in the Tyler area should run between two and three inches.
Temperatures will continue running well below normal through Thursday, and may approach normal values this weekend.
Another upper air low pressure system should cross the region some time early next week, keeping temperatures relatively comfortable, and returning rain chances.
Monday's temperatures ran a degree or so lower than those of Sunday, and were about 5 degrees below normal. Temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday should be similar, with slight warming on Thursday.
Monday's average relative humidity was 78 percent, with higher values likely Tuesday and Wednesday before values lower Thursday.
