Aug. 17: Remembering Isaac Hayes
RESPECT: I was sorry to hear of the untimely death of the cool soul singer Isaac Hayes. Mr. Hayes’ lyrics to the movie “Shaft” exemplified integrity and bravery. Seldom these days do we hear a song asking: “Who is the man who would risk his neck for his brother man?”
In an age when people tend to be callous and uncaring ... perhaps we all need to hear the theme from “Shaft” to remind us to jazz up our concern for our brother man.
