Aug. 17: How Often Do We Stop?
RANT: I drove from the hospital district about 8:45 a.m. Thursday, stopping for the traffic light at Fifth Street, then Fleishel, then the light by Green Acres Baptist Church, next Golden Road and then the loop.
After passing the loop, I had to stop again at the red light by the Super One Foods on the Troup Highway and finally at Thistle by Crown Motors, where I turn left to get home.
This means I had to stop at six lights to travel about four miles.
What in the world are the city of Tyler’s traffic engineers thinking? Gas is ridiculous and each time we have to sit at a light our engines are swallowing more gas.
Can they not do a better job of synchronizing the lights?
