August 17: VALUE OUR VOTE
We do not value or respect our vote to the extent we should. An uninformed vote is a waste and you may not like what you get. To be informed, check out candidates with what they have said, what they have done and how they have performed before they became candidates. Once a candidacy has been declared, much of what they do and say is suspect to the motivation of the election.

To vote Democrat because one is upset with President Bush is to give him too much credit. He can only sign what Congress passes and his Congress has been for the most part Democratic. Even when Republicans held a majority they set there wringing their hands, having been out of power so long their ineptness was glaringly apparent. Majority or not they allowed Democrats the upper hand; a Democratic Congress with a current approval rating of about 9 percent.

The Republican majority did pass a "drill in ANWR' bill which was promptly vetoed by Democrat Bill Clinton. At the present time, when the majority of voters demand a "drill now" bill, the Democratic controlled Congress, led by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, refuse to bring it to the floor for discussion and vote. The motivation is to wait until after the election when they assume more Democrats in office to cement our fate in favor of the wasteland that ANWR is.

We all want change. Our government has yet to solve our main concerns that have been problems for decades so we should demand change. Obama promises change which is true; he changes daily. He is an eloquent speaker so, air up your tires. He has no experience; ignore that. He is endorsed by Muslim countries and campaigns in countries that may fuel the ego but neither is the endorsement one should seek.

If you want to vote for Obama you owe it to yourself to examine the real reason. He may be the best reason to vote for McCain.
