August 15: More Sidewalks Needed For Tylerites
Tyler is a beautiful city but it needs more sidewalks.
In this day and age with the high price of gasoline and the need for people to get more exercise I find it very unusual our city is lacking sidewalks.
I would like to walk or ride my bicycle from our home to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church on 4900 Kinsey Drive, but there is no opportunity to do so because there are no sidewalks on Rice Road. Riding a bike on that street would be far too dangerous.
With the city gaining in population it would be advantageous to provide more sidewalks. Our spring and fall weather is ideal for people to enjoy the outside. Walking or riding a bicycle would be beneficial to our well-being.
