August 10: NOT EXACT SCIENCE
REPLY: In response to Mary Violes letter (Aug. 5) about meteorologists - my first question is, what does this have to do with anything?
Of all the things to write about I find it bizarre that you would pick this subject. But since you asked, why don't you Google it?
Meteorology is a very complex subject with a heavy background of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science. It requires more than just pointing at the "green screen" and yuckin' it up with the news anchors.
Some people are "weathermen" and not meteorologists, which requires a bachelor's degree.
The weather is still under the control of Mother Nature. It is not an exact science. Give our meteorologists a break or at least write about something more relevant.
