Coppell Ousts East Texas Pump Jacks
COPPELL - The East Texas Pump Jacks' inaugural season came to an end with a 4-2 loss to the Coppell Copperheads on Wednesday night.

The Pump Jacks (22-28), who lost the Texas Collegiate League playoffs series opener Tuesday night, were swept by Coppell (28-22), which advances to the TCL championship series.

Rett Varner and Donald Williams combined to limit the Pump Jacks to two unearned runs and four hits. East Texas managed just nine hits in the series.

James Alvaredo (0-1) took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits. He struck out two and walked two in six innings.

Luke Burnett pitched two scoreless innings of relief, striking out three.

Jared Wondra, Pat McCrory, Josh Riley and J.D. Dunn had the four hits for East Texas.
