FISHING REPORT
NORTHEAST
ATHENS: Water lightly stained, 83-88 degrees; 0.92' low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to weightless flukes, Texas rigs and Carolina rigs night fishing is good on black spinnerbaits and black/blue jigs. Crappie are fair to good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.
CADDO: Water stained; 83-89 degrees; 1.18' low. Black bass are good on Scum Frogs early and late, midday switching to Senkos, chatterbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows and jigs. White bass are good on white Road Runners and minnows. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.
CEDAR CREEK: Water lightly stained; 83-89 degrees; 1.25' low. Black bass are good on Pop-Rs, later switching to Texas rigs, drop shot rigs and shad pattern crankbaits. White bass are good on Humdingers and topwaters. Hybrid striper are good on large Road Runners and swim baits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on prepared bait.
LAKE O' THE PINES: Water stained; 84-89 degrees; 1.01' high. Black bass are fair to good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, Carolina rigs and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.
LAVON: Water stained; 84-89 degrees; 2.06' low. Black bass are good on chatterbaits (fished slow), crankbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait.
MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 85-95 degrees; 0.28' high. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, spinnerbaits and chrome Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait.
PALESTINE: Water lightly stained; 84-88 degrees; 1.12' low. Black bass are fair to good on chatterbaits, Texas rigs and shaky head rigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Hybrid striper are white bass are fair to good on topwaters and Humdingers. Catfish are fair on cut shad.
RAY ROBERTS: Water clear; 84-88 degrees; 0.91' low. Black bass are fair on Carolina rigged Yum Dingers in 815 feet. Crappie are good over brush piles and around isolated trees on minnows. White bass are excellent on torpedoes and Pop-Rs (surface schooling all over the main lake until around 11 a.m.). No reports on catfish.
RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water off color; 83-89 degrees; 1.86' low. Black bass are fair to good on topwaters early, later switching to wacky rigged trick worms, Texas rigs and spinnerbaits. White bass are good on Humdingers. Hybrid striper are fair to good on Sassy Shad and live shad. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.
TAWAKONI: Water lightly stained; 84-89 degrees; 1.45' low. Black bass are good on buzzbaits and Zell Pops early, later switching to Texas rigged Baby Fork Creatures, white spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and Senkos. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Humdingers and minnows. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.
TEXOMA: Water off color; 82-88 degrees; 1.87' low. Black bass are fair to good on topwaters early and late, midday switching to Carolina rigs, jigs, crankbaits and drop shot rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles and around bridge columns. Striped bass are good on live shad, Storm WildEyes and topwaters. Catfish are good on cut and live shad.
WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 80-88 degrees; 5.7' high. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to medium diving crankbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared baits.'
SOUTHEAST
SAM RAYBURN: Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; 3.58' low. Black bass are good on black/blue flake soft plastic worms. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows over baited holes. Bream are fair on nightcrawlers. Catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait and cut bait.
TOLEDO BEND: Water clear; 84 degrees; 2.84' low. Black bass are good on black/blue flake and black/red flake Gene Larew craw worms early and late. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows over baited holes. Bream are good on crickets and nightcrawlers off docks in 45 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait, livers, and hearts.

PANHANDLE
GREENBELT: Water lightly stained; 82 degrees; 25.70' low. Black bass are good on topwater lures, white spinnerbaits, and Carolina-rigged pumpkin soft plastic lizards around grass and timber lines. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live baits. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits, topwater lures, and crankbaits along grass lines. Walleye are good on live baits and silver crankbaits. Catfish are fair on live and cut baits.
MACKENZIE: Water lightly stained; 78 degrees; 73.02' low. Black bass are fair on shad-colored spinnerbaits, and black neon soft plastics worked around stick-ups. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass and striped bass are good on minnows and shad-colored crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on live baits . Walleye are fair on minnows. Catfish are fair on live and cut baits.
MEREDITH: Water lightly stained; 84 degrees; 78.46' low. Black bass are fair on topwater lures and white spinnerbaits along grass lines and points, and black/brown jigs along rocky points. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on live bait and shad-colored crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are fair on shad-colored spinnerbaits and live baits. Walleye are fair on live baits and shallow crankbaits along riprap. Channel catfish are good on live baits. Note: Boat launching is limited due to low water conditions.
PALO DURO: Water lightly stained; 78 degrees; 56.01' low. Black bass are slow on live baits and dark jigs. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Smallmouth bass are fair on live baits. Walleye are fair on live baits and crankbaits. Channel catfish are good on cut baits.
WEST
ALAN HENRY: Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; .23' low. Black bass are good on white buzzbaits early and late in day, and white/blue spinnerbaits and black/chartreuse jigs along timber lines. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs.
ARROWHEAD: Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; 4.70' low. Black bass are fair on topwater frog baits in surface vegetation and spinnerbaits along rocky points . Crappie are fair under east side bridges and off the derricks. White bass are good shallow while chasing shad. Catfish are fair on juglines and drift fishing with shad or punch bait.
COLORADO CITY: Water clear; 81 degrees; 6.87' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow.
FT. PHANTOM HILL: Water clear; 83 degrees; 0.52' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are fair on live baits.
HUBBARD CREEK: Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; 1.76' low. Black bass are fair on minnows, shad-colored spinnerbaits along grass lines, and red soft plastics worked along reeds and timber. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass and hybrid stripers are good on live baits . Catfish are good on live baits.
NASWORTHY: Water lightly stained; 80 degrees. Black bass are fair. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Redfish are fair on live baits. White bass and striped bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are fair on live baits.
OAK CREEK: Water lightly stained; 83 degrees; 1.55' low. Black bass are fair. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on live baits.
O.H. IVIE: Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 11.07' low. Black bass are fair on topwater lures, and shad-colored spinnerbaits and soft jerkbaits worked along tree lines. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live baits and crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are good on live baits and shad-colored crankbaits along points. Channel catfish are good on live baits.
POSSUM KINGDOM: Water stained 84 degrees; 2.80' low. Black bass are slow on dark soft plastic worms in 6-12' depth along wooden structure and docks in Caddo Creek. Crappie are slow on small jigs worked along deep wood structures in the mid-lake area. White bass are good on small silver crankbaits in the North Lake Area early in the morning or at night. Catfish are very good on cut baits, worms and liver along the river channel and under docks in the Rock Creek area.
SPENCE: Water lightly stained; 83 degrees; 50.89' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White bass are slow. Striped bass and hybrid striper are slow. Catfish are slow.
STAMFORD: Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 1.45' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow. White and striped bass are fair on live baits. Catfish are fair on live baits.
SWEETWATER: Water lightly stained; 83 degrees; 1.12' low. Black bass are slow on live baits. Crappie are slow on live baits and jigs. White bass are slow. Catfish are slow on live baits.
WHITE RIVER: Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; 28.33' low. Black bass are fair on black/blue jigs, white crankbaits or spinnerbaits, and cotton candy soft plastics or live baits along grass lines and rocky points . Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. Walleye are fair on live baits . Channel catfish are fair on live baits.
WICHITA: Water turbid; 86 degrees; 1.13' low. Crappie are slow near pavilion pilings and off dam. White bass and hybrid striped bass are fair on minnows or live shad in front of the spillway area. Channel catfish are fair drift fishing with shad and on trotlines. Boat launching is difficult due to low water conditions.'
COASTAL
NORTH SABINE: Trout are good in the river on live shad and shrimp. Redfish are good in the marsh on small topwaters, and in the middle of the lake under birds. Few anglers braved the weather as Tropical Storm Edouard came ashore.
SOUTH SABINE: Trout, redfish and jack crevalle are good around the jetty on live bait. Redfish are fair to good under diving birds and around the rocks on live shrimp. Redfish are fair to good in the marsh.
BOLIVAR: Tropical Storm Edouard came ashore near Bolivar. Flounder are fair to good around Rollover Pass on jigs tipped with shrimp. Redfish are good around Rollover Pass on croakers and live shrimp.
TRINITY BAY: Rains from the tropical storm kept many anglers off the water early in the week. North winds from the storm did not allow tides to rise. Trout are fair to good on the shell for waders tossing limetreuse plastics. Trout and redfish are fair to good on the reef near the spillway on red plastics and mullet.
EAST GALVESTON BAY: Few anglers strayed from the dock as Tropical Storm Edouard came ashore near High Island. Trout are fair to good around the channel on croakers. Trout are fair to good on shell pads on live shrimp and plastics.
WEST GALVESTON BAY: Trout, redfish, whiting and sand trout was good in the surf before the storm. Trout are good off the spoil banks on croaker. Gafftop, sand trout, trout, redfish, sharks and whiting are good from the beachfront piers on live bait.
TEXAS CITY: Black drum, redfish and gafftop are fair to good around the rocks on shrimp. Trout are good at night under the lights on live shrimp and DOA Shrimp.
FREEPORT: Trout, redfish and sand trout are good at San Luis Pass on live shrimp and plastics. Trout, sand trout, gafftop and sharks are good along the Surfside Beach on live bait.
EAST MATAGORDA: Trout are good for waders working the mid-bay reefs. Trout are fair to good while drifting deep shell on live shrimp, Gulps and topwaters. Redfish are good on the west end of the bay on live shrimp.
MATAGORDA: Trout and redfish are fair to good on the grass and sand on soft plastics. Trout are fair on the edge of the channel on soft plastics and croakers. Redfish are fair to good in the guts due to the low tides.
PORT O'CONNOR: Trout and redfish are fair to good on the shell in San Antonio Bay on croakers. Trout are fair to good on the grass beds near Pass Cavallo on croakers and soft plastics. Trout are fair while drifting the flats on live shrimp under a popping cork.
ROCKPORT: Trout are good on the sand and grass near Mud Island. Redfish are fair to good on the grass in Mesquite Bay on gold spoons. Trout are fair to good at Allyn's Bight on glow/chartreuse plastics.
PORT ARANSAS: Redfish are fair to good in the guts near East Flats. Trout are fair to good along the drop-off of the Lydia Ann Channel on croakers and piggy perch. Redfish, whiting and sand trout are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp. Offshore is good for snapper, ling, dorado, amberjack and kingfish.
CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout are fair to good on piggy perch and croakers on the reefs in Nueces Bay. Trout are good around the spoil islands on Gulps and live shrimp. Redfish are good on the grass beds adjacent to the channel on piggy perch and live shrimp.
BAFFIN BAY: Trout are good on soft plastics and live bait on the edge of the spoil banks. Trout are good on piggy perch on the edge of the channel in the Landcut. Trout are good on topwaters around shallow rocks and deep grass beds.
PORT MANSFIELD: Redfish are good for drifters working the potholes on gold spoons, live shrimp and soft plastics. Trout are good on the grass beds to the north on small Super Spooks and soft plastics.
SOUTH PADRE: Trout are good on the edge of the channel along the grass on DOA Shrimp and Gulps. Redfish are good while drifting potholes on gold spoons and live bait. Action at the jetty has been good for a variety of species.
PORT ISABEL: Waders have taken solid trout in the shallows on the incoming tide on small topwaters and soft plastics. Redfish and trout are hanging on the edge of the channel on soft plastics and live bait.
