UPDATE: Registration For Pre-K Opens TODAY, August 7
Tyler ISD will offer pre-kindergarten programs at three locations for the 2008-09 school year. Full-day bilingual classes will be offered at Bonner and Douglas Elementary schools and a half-day English class will be offered at Owens Elementary School, according to information from TISD.
To be eligible for the district pre-kindergarten program, a child must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1. The child is eligible for enrollment in the pre-kindergarten program if he/she meets any or all of the following criteria:
Registration will be accepted on a "first come, first served" basis at Owens Elementary, according to TISD.
Registration at Owens Elementary, 11780 CR 168, will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.
If space is still available, registration for pre-kindergarten students at Owens will begin at 9 a.m. Aug. 18 and continue until all spaces are full.
Registration for bilingual pre-kindergarten at Bonner and Douglas elementary schools is accepted on a "space available" basis, according to TISD.
Beginning Thursday, registration will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bonner Elementary, 235 S. Saunders and at Douglas Elementary, 1525 North Carlyle Ave.
