Rain Expected Next On Friday
Scattered showers and thunderstorms from Tropical Depression Edouard brought rain to parts of East Texas Wednesday as the system continued to weaken.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday, the storm was about 220 miles west of Tyler, and continuing to move northwestward at 14 mph with peak winds down to 15 mph. Wednesday should be the last day for significant showers in East Texas from the storm.

Another storm system will move through the region on Friday, and widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely then.

There was nothing on Wednesday's analysis to suggest the return of the excessive heat of the period July 27-Aug. 4.

The city measured 0.13 inch of rain.

Wednesday's temperatures ran slightly warmer than Tuesday's, and were near normal. Similar temperatures are likely today and Friday.

Low readings Wednesday were in the 70s, with similar low readings likely Thursday and Friday, and slight cooling for Saturday.

Afternoon high readings were generally in the 90s, except where heavier showers held readings in the 80s. 90-degree temperatures near seasonal normals are forecast through Saturday.
