FISHING REPORT

NORTHEAST
ATHENS: Water stained, 81-88 degrees; 2.64' low. Black bass are good on plugs and buzzbaits early, later switching to white/chartreuse spinnerbaits, weightless flukes and Texas rigs night fishing is good on black spinnerbaits and black/blue jigs. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows over brush piles. Catfish are good on cut bait and nightcrawlers.

BOB SANDLIN: Water off color; 80-88 degrees; 0.24' low. Black bass are fair to good on buzzbaits and Stanley Ribbits early, later switching to Senkos, Texas rigs and wacky rigs the night bite has been fair to good on black/blue soft plastics. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles and around bridge columns. White bass are fair to good on topwaters and Humdingers. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

CADDO: Water stained; 82-88 degrees; 0.9' low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to flukes, Senkos and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows and jigs. White bass are good on white Road Runners and minnows. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

CEDAR CREEK: Water lightly stained; 81-87 degrees; 0.79' low. Black bass are good on Ribbits early, later switching to Texas rigs, Senkos and spinnerbaits (pitching spinnerbaits to docks has been productive). White bass are good on Humdingers and topwaters. Hybrid striper are good on swim baits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

COOPER: Water lightly stained; 80-87 degrees; 1.1' low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to drop shot rigs, Carolina- and Texas rigs and Senkos. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows over brush piles. White bass are good on Rooster Tails and Little Georges. Hybrid striper are good on Sassy Shad and live shad. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

FORK: Water lightly stained; 81-87 degrees; 0.21' high. Black bass are good on Zell Pops and soft plastic frogs early and late, midmorning switching to DD22s, drop shot rigs and Carolina rigs night fishing has also been very good. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows around the bridges and over brush piles. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

LAKE O' THE PINES: Water stained; 81-88 degrees; 1.43' high. Black bass are fair to good on Yellow Magics and Ribbit Frogs early, later switching to Texas rigs and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

LAVON: Water stained; 80-88 degrees; 2.06' low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, Senkos and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs moving to deeper water. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 81-89 degrees; 0.28' high. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, spinnerbaits and chrome Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait.

PALESTINE: Water stained; 82-88 degrees; 0.36' low. Black bass are fair to good on spinnerbaits, Texas rigs and pearl shallow running crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Hybrid striper are white bass are fair to good on topwaters and Humdingers. Catfish are fair on cut shad.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water off color; 82-87 degrees; 1.38' low. Black bass are fair to good on topwaters early, later switching to wacky rigged trick worms, Texas rigs and spinnerbaits. White bass are good on Humdingers. Hybrid striper are fair to good on Sassy Shad and live shad. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.

TAWAKONI: Water lightly stained; 82-88 degrees; 0.87' low. Black bass are good on buzzbaits and Zell Pops early, later switching to Texas rigged Baby Fork Creatures, white spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and Senkos. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Humdingers and minnows. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

TEXOMA: Water off color; 80-87 degrees; 1.59' low. Black bass are fair to good on topwater plugs early, later switching to jigs, drop shot rigs, spinnerbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles and around bridge columns. Striped bass are good on live shad and topwaters. Catfish are good on cut and live shad.

WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 80-88 degrees; 6.21' high. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to medium diving crankbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared baits.


SOUTHEAST
CONROE: Water clear; 0.90' low. Black bass are good on pumpkinseed and watermelon red Carolina rigged soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on minnows and green striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and shrimp.

GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are fair on watermelon seed and watermelon gold soft plastic worms and white crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, frozen shrimp, and live bait.

HOUSTON COUNTY: Water clear; 88 degrees; 0.12' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red worms near the marina in 6 feet. Crappie are good on live minnows near the pump station in 15 feet. White bass are good along the northeast shore. Bream are good on live worms off piers and near grass beds, and on the south side of the islands. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with shad.

LIVINGSTON: Water fairly clear; 85 degrees; 0.08' low. Black bass are good on soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on hellbenders, pet spoons, and Charlie slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN: Water lightly stained; 83 degrees; 2.76' low. Black bass are fair on minnows and watermelon soft plastic worms. White bass are fair on silver spoons and minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows over baited holes in 2025 feet. Bream are fair on nightcrawlers. Catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait, cut bait, and liver.

TOLEDO BEND: Water clear; 82 degrees; 1.89' low. Black bass to 8 pounds are fair on redbug and plum soft plastic worms early and late, diving baits in the evenings, and on topwaters among schooling fish. Striped bass are fair on minnows and silver striper jigs. White bass are good on spoons. Crappie are slow to fair on minnows over brush in 2025 feet. Bream are excellent on crickets and nightcrawlers off docks in 45 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait, stinkbait, livers, and hearts in 30 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.


COASTAL
NORTH SABINE: Trout are good in the river on live shad. Trout are good around the islands for waders tossing topwaters. Redfish are good in the marsh on small topwaters.

SOUTH SABINE: Trout and redfish are good at the jetty on fresh shrimp. Topwaters against the rocks have worked as well. Redfish are fair to good under diving birds.

BOLIVAR: Trout, redfish and sand trout are good in the surf and around the pass. Redfish are good around Rollover Pass on croakers and live shrimp.

TRINITY BAY: Trout are fair to good on the shell for waders tossing limetreuse plastics. Trout are fair around the east shoreline shell on red shad plastics and topwaters. Redfish are good at the mouth of bayous on the falling tide on live bait.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are good on the north shoreline on topwaters and plastics. Trout are best while drifting deep shell on plastics and croakers. Redfish are fair to good at the mouths of the marsh on live shrimp.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Trout and sand trout are good in the surf on soft plastics. Trout are good off the spoil banks on croaker. Gafftop, sand trout, trout, redfish, sharks and whiting are good from the beachfront piers on live bait.

TEXAS CITY: Black drum and gafftop are fair to good around the rocks on shrimp. Trout are good at night under the lights on live shrimp and DOA Shrimp.

FREEPORT: Trout, redfish and sand trout are good at San Luis Pass on live shrimp and plastics. Trout, sand trout, gafftop and sharks are good along the Surfside Beach on live bait.

EAST MATAGORDA: Trout are fair to good while drifting deep shell on live shrimp and topwaters. Waders have scored on the reefs. Redfish are good on the west end of the bay on live shrimp.

MATAGORDA: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline grass beds around Cotton's and Green's bayous on Bass Assassins, Sand Eel Jrs. and Trout Killers. Redfish are fair to good in Crab Lake on live shrimp.

PORT O'CONNOR: Trout are fair to good on the grass beds near Pass Cavallo on croakers and soft plastics. Trout are fair while drifting the flats on live shrimp under a popping cork. Deep shell has produced good trout on croakers in Espiritu Santo Bay. Redfish and sharks are good on live shrimp and mullet at the jetty and in the surf.

ROCKPORT: Trout are good around Mud Island on She Pups and Super Spook Jrs. Trout are good on the reefs in St. Charles Bay, Mesquite Bay and Copano Bay on croakers. The outside of Traylor Island has produced trout on croakers and piggy perch.

PORT ARANSAS: Trout are fair to good along the drop-off of the Lydia Ann Channel on croakers and piggy perch. Trout, sand trout, gafftop and jack crevalle are good on croakers and shrimp at the jetty. Offshore is good for snapper, ling, amberjack and kingfish.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout are good around the spoil islands on Gulps and live shrimp. Trout are good on the grass beds adjacent to the channel on piggy perch and live shrimp.

BAFFIN BAY: Trout are good on piggy perch on the edge of the channel in the Landcut. Redfish are good on the sand on small topwaters. Trout are good on topwaters around shallow rocks.

PORT MANSFIELD: Trout are good on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels on the grass beds. Waders have taken redfish in the potholes on small topwaters. Offshore is good for red snapper, ling and kingfish.

SOUTH PADRE: Snook are good on topwaters and DOA Shrimp in South Bay and at the mouth of drains on the falling tide. Trout, jack crevalle, sand trout and Spanish mackerel are good at the jetty on live bait.

PORT ISABEL: Trout are good while drifting sand and grass on DOA Shrimp and Gulps. Redfish are fair to good while casting to potholes on She Pups, Super Spook Jrs. and gold spoons.
