East National Captures Crown

The moment followed East National winning the 9-10 division championship at the Texas East State Little League Tournament.
A morning after its first defeat of the tourney, East National eased past First Colony American, 13-1, in five innings Wednesday morning at Faulkner Park.

East National completed the event 3-1.
First Colony, which forced the winner-takes-all game with a comeback victory Tuesday night, finished 2-2 — both setbacks coming against East National.

East National used a big fifth inning to put the 10-run mercy rule into effect, scoring seven runs on nine hits for a 12-run lead. East National led 8-1 the prior night before First Colony completed a furious comeback, but history didn’t repeat itself.
East National’s Parker Bramlett, Call Florence, Tanner Batten, Clayton Engel and Mason House had RBI hits in the inning.
Bramlett finished the game with three hits and two RBIs, while Batten had two hits (one double) and four RBIs and House had two hits (one double) and two RBIs.
First Colony’s Zach Short had an RBI single. Teammate Jacob Piper added a double.
Notes: First Colony’s Sean Gossard had the game-winning hit Tuesday night...This is the final step for the 9-10 division. There is no regional or world series.
