Clyde, Sarran Tied for 10th in Houston
CYPRESS — Tyler’s Cal Clyde and Longview’s Jordan Sarran are tied for 10th after Monday’s first round of the Legends Junior Tour’s Houston Area Junior Golf Championship at the BlackHorse Golf Club’s North Course.

Clyde and Sarran carded 2-over 74 on the 6,746-yard course. They are competing in the 15-18 Division.

Albert Miner of Katy leads the tourney after firing a 6-under 66. He is four strokes ahead of Brian Smith of Corpus Christi and Brian Swanson of Katy. The field has 37 players.

Tyler’s Wade Dixon is tied for 28th after carding an 81, while fellow Tylerite William Estes is tied for 30th after firing an 82.

The second and final round is scheduled for Tuesday.
