Tyler East National Team Survives Elimination Game

Patrick Day had 10 strikeouts and three Tyler East National players belted home runs as the Rose Capital squad scored a 10-8 win over Nederland in a Major League elimination game Monday at Faulkner Park.

Patrick Day had 10 strikeouts and three Tyler East National players belted home runs as the Rose Capital squad scored a 10-8 win over Nederland in a Major League elimination game Monday at Faulkner Park.
Tyler East (2-1) advances to Lamar American (2-0) at 7 p.m. today on Field No. 5.
The Tyler team needs to win today to force another game, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Lamar American can clinch the title with a win today.
Tyler East rallied from a 6-0 deficit to capture the win.
Trace Reed (solo), Patrick Mahomes (three-run) and Dallas Stefano (solo) blasted homers for Tyler.
Colton Weisbrod and Preston White knocked homers for Nederland.
Day had the 10 strikeouts in only 4 2/3 innings.
Mahomes had two hits, three RBIs and scored two runs.
Leftfielder Stefano threw out a runner at the plate for the final out of the game.
Reed and Ryan Rendon had doubles for Tyler, while Jake Parker had a triple.
9-10 Year Olds

It took two days and nine innings, but it was worth it for Tyler East National.
The Rose Capital East All-Stars scored a 13-11 win over First Colony in the 9-10 Year Division of the Texas East State Tournament Monday at Faulkner Park.
Tyler East stays unbeaten in the tournament and will play for the Texas East State Championship at 7 p.m. Tuesday on Field No. 7. The opponent will be either First Colony or Lamar National.
The game between Tyler East National and First Colony was called late Sunday night with the game tied 8-8 after six innings.
It took three more innings on Monday with Call Florence getting a key two-RBI single in the top of the ninth as Tyler East scored five runs.
First Colony scored three in the bottom half of the inning, but Tyler pitcher Clayton Engel got the final out for the victory.
On Sunday, Tanner Batten had a two-run homer and Florence’s single scored Caleb Miller.
First Colony tied the game in the bottom of the sixth with three runs to force the extra day of play.
