Pump Jacks Inch Closer To .500 Mark
BRYAN — The East Texas Pump Jacks moved within one game of .500 with a 12-9 victory against Brazos Valley in 10 innings Tuesday night.

The Pump Jacks scored three runs in the top of the 10th inning — spurred by Adam De La Garza’s two-RBI double — and then shut down the Bombers in the bottom half.

Hunter Harris, a Gladewater native and current Texas Longhorn, retired the side in the inning to earn his first decision of the season. Harris entered the game with one out in the ninth.

East Texas’ offense started the game strongly, scoring five runs in the first — three on a Paige Hodges homer and two on a Nate Bryan single.

Brazos Valley rallied to score seven in the fifth and took the lead.

The Pump Jacks (15-16) can reach the even mark with another victory against Brazos Valley tonight.
