Air Force Lt. Col. Jeffery C. Wharton, formerly of Wills Point, has assumed command of 412th Operations Support Squadron, Edwards Air Force Base, Rosamond, Calif.
Wharton, a commander, has served in the military for 19 years.
He is the son of Myrna Wharton of Wills Point.
The colonel graduated in 1984 from Wills Point High School, and received a bachelor's degree in 1988 from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.
