Sparks Leads Pump Jacks to Win
COPPELL — Matt Sparks pitched six innings of two-hit ball as the East Texas Pump Jacks downed the Coppell Copperheads, 4-2, Sunday at The Snake Pit.

Burnett pitched two innings and Pat McCrory pitched the ninth for the save.

Adam De La Garza, J.D. Dunn and Dexter Moreno each had two hits, while De La Garza and McCrory each had two RBIs.

McCrory, Josh Riley and Garrett Smith added one hit apiece.

Tyler East National Rolls To Victory

AUSTIN — Call Florence had four hits and five RBIs to spark Tyler East National to a 19-3 win over Washington County Sunday in a Minor League Sectional game.

The Tyler squad advances to the championship game at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Ty Miller and Phillip Day each had two hits and two RBIs, while Mason House added a hit with 4 RBIs.

Florence had a double and triple, while Miller had two doubles. House had a double as well.

Home Run Derby

NEW YORK (AP) — Minnesota’s Justin Morneau was selected for All-Star Home Run Derby, completing the eight-man field for Monday night’s contest at Yankee Stadium.

He joins Tampa Bay rookie Evan Longoria, Texas’ Josh Hamilton and Cleveland’s Grady Sizemore from the American League. The NL derby lineup has Houston’s Lance Berkman, Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun, Florida’s Dan Uggla and Philadelphia’s Chase Utley.
