Tyler Police detained two suspects Sunday after a citizen saw them packing a Cadillac with automobile parts allegedly stolen from the car lots at Saturn of Tyler and Advantage Auto.

Upon investigation, one of the suspects identified the parts as those stolen from Saturn of Tyler, Advantage Auto, Hall GMC and used car lots at Hwy 110 North and Loop 323 and at Highway 69 North outside Loop 323. Police confiscated the Cadillac and discovered stolen property attached to and within the vehicle, according to a prepared statement.

One of the suspects, a white male from Lindale, remains detained by police while the second was released pending further investigation.

Anyone who had auto property stolen on Saturday night or Sunday morning is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department immediately to report the crime.

In another weekend incident, Tyler officers contacted a suspicious car near the intersection of Dennis and Paluxy Sunday, according to a news release. Upon further investigation, the two suspects were identified as being in possession of stolen property. Both subjects were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, transported to the Smith County Jail and booked. Detectives were called out to complete follow up investigations on the allegations of auto burglary.
